Faye was born as a first child to her parents in a small home in a large city. Her parents lived in poverty and barely had any money to take care of her. When she was almost two years old she got a little sister, Elisabeth, also called Lys. But not long after the birth of her sister her mother passed away due to bad circumstances around her birth and no money for any medicine or a good doctor. Her father tried to take care of both of them from then on.

When Faye was 12 her father joined the queen's army for the benefits it would give him and his children. And as he was away from home the children stayed at a distant relative's home who got sent money on a regular basis so she could pay for anything the girls needed. This relative noticeably didn't want the children but given the circumstances their life with her was alright. They had clothes on their back, food on their plate and roof over their head. Lys could even go to school while Faye worked to make some extra money from the age of 13 onwards.
